The client had a very good idea of what was needed to provide a patio handrail to a garden deck in Bray, Co Wicklow, and came to us to commission the works. Western Red Cedar was the timber of choice to provide a durable handrail which will last many years with good stability. The beams which form the uprights are cut from 150x75mm sections and bolted to the stone deck for a solid feel. The wooden patio handrail is similarly sized and sanded smooth for a beautiful tactile rail and shelf. No timbers were fixed to the surface of the deck to maintain a clean look and give a floating effect to the upright rails.
